Digitize JPG, PNG or SVG artwork into machine-ready PES, DST, JEF and 15 more embroidery formats online with private processing and verified stitch files.

## What the platform does

Embroidery File Converter provides two separate software workflows in one interface:

1. **Automated image digitising** creates a new stitch plan from artwork.
2. **Embroidery file conversion** reads an existing stitch design and writes it to another supported machine format.

Changing a filename extension is not a conversion. Every generated machine file is parsed again and checked for valid stitch data before download.

## Convert images to embroidery files

Accepted artwork: JPG, JPEG, PNG, SVG and WebP.

The digitising pipeline traces suitable artwork, reduces colours, creates running and fill stitches, writes the selected machine format, and validates the result. Clean logos, icons and flat-colour illustrations produce the most predictable results. Photographs, gradients, tiny lettering and highly detailed artwork may need simplification before processing.

Supported machine-file outputs: PES, DST, JEF, EXP, VP3, XXX, PEC, U01, TBF, HUS, SEW, SHV, PCS, VIP, TAP, DSB, DSZ and KSM.

## Embroidery file conversion

Accepted embroidery sources: PES, DST, JEF, EXP, VP3, XXX, PEC, U01, TBF, HUS, SEW, SHV, PCS, VIP, TAP, DSB, DSZ, KSM, PHB, PHC and PCM.

Writable embroidery outputs: PES, DST, JEF, EXP, VP3, XXX, PEC, U01, TBF, HUS, SEW, SHV, PCS, VIP, TAP, DSB, DSZ and KSM.

PHB, PHC and PCM are input-only. The service does not claim to create these formats because the current open-source production engine does not provide reliable tested writers for them.

Target formats differ in their support for thread colours, trims, metadata and machine commands. The application displays relevant compatibility warnings and a test stitch is recommended before production.

## Free guest allowance

Guests and signed-in free accounts receive 1 free image digitisation per month. All free processing is also limited to 3 jobs in a rolling 24-hour period and 8 jobs in a month. Creating an account adds tracked history and private downloads; it does not change the technical validation applied to a file.

## Privacy and files

Uploads are handled privately and are not published as web assets. Public search pages never expose customer artwork, filenames, job history or download URLs. Private downloads use short-lived signed URLs.
